The unique taste of honey

One of the main reasons we love honey is its unique taste. Its flavour can vary from one harvest to the next, and even from one hive to the next. Everyone has their own ritual: in tea, coffee, yoghurt, or simply spread on a slice of bread.

The many benefits of honey

You probably already know everything I’m going to tell you about honey, but let’s have a quick reminder – not a bee sting! Beyond its irresistible taste, honey is recognised for its many health benefits:

Natural cough suppressant

Since the dawn of time, honey has been used as a remedy for coughs and sore throats. Its thickness helps to form a protective barrier that soothes irritated mucous membranes in the throat, while providing immediate relief. What’s more, its anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce inflammation, soothing pain and discomfort.

Combined with lemon or hot tea, honey can offer instant comfort, while fighting the bacteria responsible for the infection. Not only is it a powerful natural cough suppressant, but it also offers sweet, gentle relief for those in pain.

Boosting the immune system

Honey, with its rich composition of enzymes, minerals and vitamins, plays a crucial role in boosting our immune system. Its antimicrobial properties help fight infections by targeting pathogenic bacteria, while its antifungal qualities prevent the growth of harmful fungi.

What’s more, honey contains antioxidants that fight free radicals in the body, helping to prevent inflammation and maintain healthy cells. By incorporating honey into our daily diet, even in small doses, we provide our body with a natural defence against disease.

Natural energy source

Honey is a treasure trove of instant energy, thanks to its richness in natural sugars such as fructose and glucose. Rapidly absorbed by the body, these components provide an almost immediate boost of energy. Ideal for sports enthusiasts or anyone needing a boost to start their day, a spoonful of honey can help overcome morning tiredness or the afternoon slump.

Unlike refined sugars, which can cause a glycaemic spike followed by a rapid drop, honey offers a more stable release of energy, avoiding sudden drops in vitality. Finally, thanks to the minerals, vitamins and antioxidants it contains, honey also supports metabolic functions, making it both an effective and healthy source of energy.

An ally for digestion

This point is probably the least well known! While the sweetness of honey is often emphasised, its beneficial role in digestion is also worth highlighting. The composition of honey encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the digestive system.

These micro-organisms play a key role in the decomposition and assimilation of nutrients, helping to avoid discomforts such as bloating, constipation and other digestive disorders.

Honey can also act as a prebiotic, nourishing the good bacteria present in the intestine. By regularly incorporating honey into your diet, you can support a balanced intestinal flora and promote calm, harmonious transit.

Skin hydration

Honey has long been known for its moisturising and soothing properties. It’s a precious ingredient for caring for our skin, particularly when it’s dry, irritated or tight. Rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, it deeply nourishes the skin, restoring its softness and elasticity.

Thanks to its ability to retain water, honey maintains the skin’s natural hydration and strengthens its protective barrier. When incorporated into cosmetic formulations, whether creams, masks or lotions, it amplifies their beneficial effects.

What’s more, its anti-inflammatory and healing properties make it particularly suitable for treating minor skin ailments such as scratches or rashes.

Sélection de produits lavande bio

Our main activity is the growing of lavender and lavandin, a family history with us for four generations. For years we have been pioneers in organic farming and recognised for the high quality of our work.

It was during a family meal in 2015 that the idea of distributing our products directly came to us. Until then, we had been selling our produce to wholesalers or agricultural cooperatives.

So it was on this impetus that myself, Samuel (22) and my partner Emma (20) decided to devote ourselves to this crop full-time, leaving the production side to my father so that everyone had all the space they needed to best develop their part of the business.
